Ryan and I met in January of 2000. We actually met on a blind date. We were so different; I think at best we liked each other. But then we realized just how fun we both were and how much we liked the other one’s differences. So we got married a year and a half later. We planned on having kids soon, but I think having this time as a couple actually ended up being pretty great. We got to build our relationship into a super strong base for a family. I love him now even more than when we first got married.
We are outgoing people that enjoy getting the most out of life. We love to travel abroad and here in the states. We are really lucky to have family and friends all over the world to visit and stay with. We have seen a lot as a couple and since we have had Stella, but can't wait to have big family vacations to Disney World and over seas.

Ryan is a mechanic on heavy equipment. And I’m a teacher in an alternative school, which is nice because I’m home by 3:30 and all summer. It’s weird because our jobs are really a reflection of who we are. Ryan loves physical and mechanical stuff. He loves camping, dirt bike riding, and pretty much anything outside that’s physical activity. I like to camp, too, but I think I’m more into the s’mores side of things. Plus I'm wussier than he is and like that we have a camper with air conditioning and a shower. Actually we both really do love nature and being outside. Education is also big on both of our lists, but in different ways. True, I’m more likely to be reading a book, but Ryan loves PBS, the History Channel, museums, and lots of stuff that I find super boring. Stella and I are more likely to be watching Glee or American Idol. She loves the music!
When we aren’t working, traveling, or camping we are living our everyday lives. At home I love to sew and be crafty, while Ryan likes to piddle around in his shop. I actually have no idea what he does in there. I think "working in the shop" might actually be code for “listening to the radio and staring at his dirt bike”! We both like playing with our dogs. They are so funny! We also both like days that we can just sit around and do nothing.

...and then of course there is Stella. She has become the light of our lives and is always up to something. We play chase. She loves to be outside, so we play in the yard A LOT. She and I love to sing and dance around. We aren't necessarily great at it, but we have tons of fun. She is starting gymnastics and so we are all looking forward to that. Stella is a climber and a constant daredevil, so we are also always on "Stella-catching" duty.
